Subject: K&N FIPK P/N IP: Logged
Message: Looking to buy a FIPK for my 2001 3.9L Dak. Heard you can use the 5.9L FIPK with the 3.9L setup. I've also seen part numbers of people's FIPK, such as 57-1501, which I dont know where it came from. What's the best to use on the 3.9L and/or what will fit??? The part # would also be helpful.

Message: I put a K&N fipk #57-1509 on my 97 3.9 4x4. it fits just fine and its easy to install too. The K&N web site lists a part # 57-1517-1 for a 2001 5.9 Dakota.
Those are the part #s, I realy dont know if either will fit, but I assume the 57-1509 would.
Someone with a little more knowledge than me will probably chime in though.

Message: if you have a 2001 with no cruise control you can use the 57-1509 kit "BUT" if you have cruise control you will need 57-1517-(1) with or without the (1) it has the brackets you need to relocate the CC module

Message: Looking for the same for my 02, no cc. I think my setup is almost the same as an o1 but never did a side by side comp. Anyone think the 57-1509 will fit the 02 with a 3.9L? Thanks!
