Message: DC wants you to run it thru the radiator cooler in and out first and then into and out of the tranny cooler-- that way it preheats the fluid and the water to help keep it all in the heat range where the pcm will run the engine well-- if not for that , then bypassing the radiator built in cooler would lower that tranny oil temps better - so you can do it the way you decide you need most ---- help the engine run better - or keep the tranny the ablosute coolest-- and do not forget to remove the thermal valve on the tranny -to cooler line - it is junk and causes more problems than it is worth--

Problem is, The cooler on the bottom of the radiator is the one that gets plugged the easiest & most common. Running the fluid thru here 1st would defeat the cooler in the front. If your flow is restricted, what good is the cooler going to do you?
My Vote is bypass the radiator completely. Heat in your tranny is a disaster. I have a melted Planetary gear assembly to prove it. My cooler (RV Cooler) is on the front of the tranny and hoses run straight to & from.
And like Bigl said, get rid of that thermal valve, Its in the crimp on the line where it changes from alum line to rubber hose under the Harmonic Balancer. I cut the alum tube back to just before the bend that comes from along side the Oil Pan and slid the Rubber hose over the aluminum tube about 6" and Double Clamped it. No leaks so far.
Good Luck,
Shank
