Subject: Frame Question IP: Logged
Message: I posted a little bit back i was buying a 95 dodge dakota wanted to know what was out there for rims well i picked it up thursday afternoon on my way home from work yesterday i totalled it the wrecker guy says the frame is buckled i have not got the issurance's opionin on it yet but if so i was wondering what it would take to fix it if they total it im buying it back i refuse to give up my truck so anyways give me some opioinins on the best ways to fix it im looking into a 360 to put it

Message: well you can get your frame pulled faily easily. but whats gonna kill ya is labor. takin off fenders, hood, drillin tack welds (that sucks big balls), bangin out dents, then actually pullin the frame, prepping the new fenders, painting them, reassembly, plus the 95's have a chrome bumper (least the one im buying does) so thats gonna cost ya, plus whatever else got screwed in the crash. hope ya got yerself some deeper pockets than i do

Message: as far as taking everything off im going to do it my self im putting the engine in my self as well so just about the only thing ill need done is the frame im just worried about how bad it will be after i fix it i have heard stories about frames not being done right

Message: yeah you might as wel just give it up because those year model vehicles only run for about 3000 resale if its in very good condition so thats about how much you should expect from the insurance company and its gonna probably be about 7 to 8000 to fix the frame and then when its done you will constantly be getting the front end re alligned because its never the same after the frame has been bent...
