My 93 dokota has gone from 320 miles to 190 miles per tankfull in the past 6 weeks. I've replaced spark plugs, distributer cap and rotor, pcv valve and breather (still getting the oil out from under my fingernails). The exhaust pipe is coated with carbon, so I know it's running too lean and the idle speed stays level at 600 which seems too low for this manual transmition model. It is running as smoothly as can be expected for an old truck with 250K+ miles. where do i go from here?

Bad O2 sensor will hit your mileage bigtime

Recomended to be replaced every 60,000 miles

If it were running lean you would get better
mileage not worse

A rich condition will produce carbon
