 Subject: Loud engine when cold

Upon starting occasionally the engine has a deep roar. By this I mean it sounds much more like a V8 than my 3.9 V6. This sound continues for about 30 seconds or until I get moving and switch gears. Anyone else having this problem? Could it be the mass air flow sensor???

I think that ROAR you here is the fan clutch engaging. mine does that sometimes when i first start it or if it idles for a little while when its warm. nothing to worry about.

Same thing happens with mine. Also happens when I have the AC on for a while. But it seems to have more balls when I first start it up. Not sure if its colder air or what.
