 Subject: Shift silenoid location

Funny thing happened to me today. I was leaveing the dorms to grab some real food and I realized that my truck wasn't shifting out of 1st gear. I looked down and it was in drive (I was doing mabye 25mph) and a second or 2 later the check engine light came on. Seeing that I was only an 1/8th mile from the dorms I turned my ass around. I remembered reading here that if you flipped the ignition on and off 3 times than hold it at the on position it will give you the trouble code. P 0750 Shift Silenoid A malifunction. Does anyone know where this silenoid would be besides sticking out of my tranny. Any help would be useful and save me the tow bill to the dreaded dealership. Thanks in advance.

The first thing you need to do is go under the
truck and unplug the wires going to the trans
spray them with WD 40 or contact cleaner and plug
them back in.
A lot of times its just a caroaded connection
If that don't solve the problem the selinoid needs
to be replaced.

I would really rather not drive the 12 miles or so the the dealership going 25 mph, that would get on peoples nerves. But if I drive backwords atleast it would be funny. J & J Auto, I really would like to spray down the connections but for once there is no parts store in walking distance around here....stupid historic district. Mabye I should try my bike as long as I have that here. Or mabye I am just to lazy haha. Thanks guys

Well just scrape them with a little screwdriver
and plug it back togather

Well, I finally got my lazy a$$ up and went to take a look see under my truck. I saw 2 connectors that endt into the drivers side of the tranny. As I looked at them I saw that they have something that lookes on the order or a 20 mm socket head, or whatever you may call it, on them. I have nothing here that big to use to unscrew these suckers. I disconnected the connecters and they were clean but I have a feeling that that was not my problem. In case your woundering, one of them was a little above the transmission pan and the other was a little farther back.....I think I am going to have to give in the the dealership.
