Subject: Tranny Cooler Help Please IP: Logged
Message: I was wheelin the other day and I knocked off the line from the transmission cooler to the tranny itself. My truck is a 2002 3.9l dak sport. If anyone knows where I hook it back up to it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Message: Rouch, that sounds painful. On the front of the radiator on the driver side there should be a smaller looking radiator. This is your tranny cooler. The line runs from the cooler along the driver side of the engine and connects back to the tranny in front of the shift linkage.
I have seen some hooked up in a series..... the line runs from the tranny into the radiator mounted tranny cooler on the pass side, comes out the driver side on bottom of the radiator and around to the front into a cooler mounted on front of the radiator. This baffled me since the cooler that plugs the easiest and the least efficient is the one mounted on bottom of the radiator, If it gets plugged the whole system is shot!
Take it to the Washrack and spray off all the mud & it'll likely be easier to see ;)
