Subject: Check Engine On - Help IP: Logged
Message: I have a 94 V6 dodge dakota with 134,000 miles on it. I have been having trouble with it wanting to stall and it sounds like it's backfiring. Well the check engine light came on and now it won't start. The engine light code read 12 and 51. Do you know how accurate these engine light codes are? I know 51 is a oxygen sensor...would it stop the truck from starting? Is it a easy fix?

Message: 12 = battery disconnect within last 50 key on cycles
51 =O2 sensor signal lean air/fuel ratio
Without air/fuel it will not run! Changing sensor is easy, Unplugging the electrical connector on top of tranny is the hardest thing to do....

Message: It was the fuel pump. It's expensive but at least now I know what it is.
Thanks for the help
