Subject: Oil Filling Question... IP: Logged
Message: Last time I changed the oil in my Dakota, I would go to add some and it wouldn't seem to drain back into the pan right away. I don't know if the filler neck is in a bad spot, but I could only fill the crankcase up a few ounces at a time or it would overflow out the valvecover. The entire oil change ended up taking an hour...because it took forever to fill it up! Is this a problem I have to live with, or is something amiss here?
Thanks,
Eugene

Message: Why wouldn't the rest of us have that problem then? We have baffles in our valve covers too...

Message: Sounds like your baffles were beaten for clearance for RR's OR you have a Gunked up engine. Are both side doing this or just 1?
Pull covers and Investigate.
