Subject: A handful of questions

Alright...I'm sure some of these have been covered before, but I got so many I'd rather just try and get all the answers in one thread instead of searching multiple threads. No I'm not gonna ask if I can put a V8 throttle "boty" on my truck either:) Here's my list of questions:

1.) My truck has almost 44,000 miles on it and sometimes my transmission surges really bad if I punch it. On some days it also shifts weird (weird times, no slipping or grinding). Can a trans-go shift kit fix that and what are the chances that it will mess up my transmission rather than help it?

2.) I'm probably going to get one of the Edelbrock air cleaners. Any places online I can buy the 10" air cleaner and K&N filter to fit it (I know I can prolly find it at one of my local autozones, but I like buying online better).

3.)My left front brake is squealing really bad whenever I hit the brakes. I checked them the other day and they aren't anywhere near ready to change. Any ideas on how to fix that? Could warped rotors be the cause of it? I have a feeling my rotors are warped since I've heard the signs are you can a light pulsing while stopping.

4.) My dad is going to get me new tires before this winter. What are some good tires (that aren't super expensive) that will fit on my stock rims and will give me decent traction during the winter.

5.) I am wanting to get a new stereo system in the truck or at least new speakers. I know the actual headunit requires disassembling much of the dash to get to, but how easy is it to get to my speakers?

That's all I can think of at the moment... thanks ya'll.

Oh yeah...my dak is a 98.

The shift kit will help with sluggish shifts and
make your trans last longer because a faster shift
produces less heat and wear on the clutch packs

Check summitracing.com for air filters

You can rough up the rotor with some sand paper
to get red of the squealing probably glazed and
it does sound like its starting to warp

I run the cooper ST excellent traction in the snow
of which we have a few inches this morn on the
ground. They are $90 each but well worth the
money

All you need to do is pull the dash cover and the
radio will come out a few screws

Speakers you need to remove the door panels and
the back ones are in the corners behind the panel

get the new general ameritrac -- they are very quiet and good in snow and rain and they have a treadware rating of 500, whichis 1/3rd better than the wrangler rts series--
