Message: My 3.9 feels like there is now power at all. I just had a new cat put on my exhaust but this did not take away the problem. When i stop on the pedal there is not very much pick up at all. I have tried some fuel injector cleaner but no luck. Does any one have any ideas on what could be wrong with my truck? It is a 95 ext. cab with a auto tranny.

Message: i think it could be the facts that youve got a v6. the neutered 5.2 just doesnt quite have enough. ive got the v6 too though so i dont have much room to talk. have you had a tune up lately? cap rotor plugs wires, might wake her up a little. air filter may be dirty, you could need new muffler, if its too bad you may have lost backpressure, well im not sure, just my $.02

Message: Have you changed the O2 sensor lately. When I changed mine my performance improved significantly.
If you really want to improve performance get a Superchip tuner. I put one on mine and it feels like a muscle car. I have a K&N drop in filter and the Dynomax muffler. Next week I will install the 1.7 roller rockers and a F&B throttle body. Hopefuly it will really scream with these mods.

Message: my guess would be that your new exhaust is too big. What are you running now?

Message: All that i had done to my exhaust was replace that cat. Could the O2 senser be pluged with carbon? How much does it cost to replace one of them?

Message: If the cat went bad, the O2 could also be in need of replacement. Any shop with a scanner can watch the O2 to see if it is working properly.

Message: The O2 sensor that you need to change is on the exaust pipe between the engine and the cat. It takes a 7/8ths wrench and limber hands to disconect the plug that is snapped to the trany.
auto zone sells the Bosch sensor for about $60 bucks.

Message: did this happen only since you had the new cat put on the truck? check t make sure they put it on right- they must go on correctly in order to flow exhaust correctly-- you may want to see if they disconnected or damaged the O2 sensors

Message: No, it is on correclty. It ran like crap before. I installed the cat thinking it would fix the problem. I am putting on a new 02 senser in the next couple of days. Hopefully this fixes the power problem.
