Message: You will lose some low end but gain at the top
Hughes engines has ported stock manifolds.
http://www.hughesengines.com/
I know I will hear some flack about this one but
Bernd still has his old site up and there are
some pics of a modded intake there with the
runner cut back radious the ports and injector
holes
http://lonestar.texas.net/~bernd/DakotaPics.htm
Its almost identical to the way I did mine

Message: hey IntenseDak39,
I am interested in getting your manifold. is it already ported? how do you think it will do on my 2000 Dodge Dakota 3.9L V6 engine that has a K&N Cold Air Intake, Ford MotorSport 19lb. fuel injectors, JBA Ceramic Headers, Flowmaster 40 Delta series (single in dual out), no cat (straight pipe), IAT adjuster, 50mm TB from FastMan, Transgo Shift Kit, and an MSD ignition. reply here or at bodywear@hotmail.com

Message: The low end lose is hardly noticeable on most
trucks and if you have the 1.7 rockers not at all
you will actualy gain
You will notice a much better pull 2500 and up as
I did with mine.
Intense what big block are you going to drop in.
I have a 400 still sitting on an engine stand in
my garage with a 268 284 magnum cam 10 to 1
Keith Black KB240 pistons 383 forged crank and
rods, mopar alm dual plain and a 625 carter 4bl
all rebuilt and ready to go that I was going to
drop in my dak but because of the offset on the
V6 4X4 it will not fit.
Now I am either going to drop it in the 63 polara
convertable or find a nice 2 wheel drive.
There is a guy up here with a 1991 Dak with a 383
Mag 4 speed in his Dak man that is one fast truck
with 3.55 sure grip and traction bars he still
goes through 1 set of tires every summer he don't
drive it in the snow

Message: No it don't need to be stroked but a bigger TB and
1.7 rockers will help more with a modded intake.
Stroking is only for hardcore people like me and
others that just can never get enough hp.
Now I want more and am going to put togather a
twin turbo system next summer.

Message: scotty,
i shortened the divider about 1.5" and then shortened the runners to equal length of the divider. Then i rounded them all off and radiused the injector bosses. There was a big difference in upper rpms
the mods i had with it were:
cold air intake
flowmaster
jba headers
1.7 roller rockers
msd stuff
V8 throttle body
Larry,
its a 400 BB with some goodies... but stock crank, rods and pistons. My goal is just to get it in the truck... then blow it up with nitrous and make it bigger

Message: I had a "vision"/experiment I'm trying....
I saw these pictures after what I did. I took an Intake down to the Welding shop and used a Plasma cutter.....
The upside down pic of Bernd's intake.. I took out the entire baffle, Cut the TB opening into an Oval. Then I cut the runners all the way open to where they were flush with the cross-flow. If that makes any sense. I will attempt to post a Pic when I get it back from the Acid dip @ machine shop.
Only problem I may run into is "Too much Air"
I took the block to the machine shop & they are boring it .030 over.
Already had the heads Ported, Polished, Shaved .010 and Vortec'd
Dropped $500 on the counter @ O'Reilly's for new bearings, Piston's, rings, seals & Gaskets.
Gonna take a while to recoup from that before I can consider 1.7's & Headers.
Last month I spent $800 on another '93 Dak 2WD & gonna put my engine in it to sell so I can have the money to finish the hyper engine.
Then comes Tranny Shift Kit. Even after rebuild it's still not doin right, No O/D again. Shop put it on diagnostic and said not enough govenor pressure But have plenty of pressure coming off the tranny pump.
K, done rambling....... NEXT!
