Subject: 600cfm?? IP: Logged
Message: I have an 87 dakota 3.9 with the holley 6280 carb. My carb is shot and a new one is 340.00. However, I called my local dodge dealer and found out that the carb adaptor plate i saw mentioned in another post here is only 23.00. I have a eldebrock 600cfm square bore carb sitting here. will this work with the adaptor and is 600cfm too much for the 3.9?
I need to make a decision soon so please help.
Thanks, Jeff

Message: As long as it bolts up it will work fine, I have
seen many pre mag 3.9's with either a 580 or 600
holley on them.
the 48mm on my 95 mag is rated at 660cfm

Message: I just got off the phone with the local dealer. I asked him if any 4brl carb would work or if I had to use a certian one and he said he thought any type of spread bore carb would work but without a pic of the adapter to look at he could not be certian. my eldebrock is a square bore. Has anyone seen or used this part?? I really need some more info so I can figure out the cost of each of my options.
