Message: this is a tfod jr. kit. Im talking 2 springs, 1 tappered bushing and 1 shaft.Im not sure were talking about the same kit.(are we?)I think your talking about the performance kit.

Opps,
Ya I guess I was, I have never used that kit or
know anyone who has.
where can I find some info on this kit to see
what they are changing than I could tell you
what its all about.
Tapered bushing that goes in the hole for the
modulator, 2 springs 1 is probably presure and
the shaft is probably the new shift valve, other
spring govenor I bet.
Sounds like a basic shift improver kit if so yes
they do help

Message: yea larry, I found the info on the kit.#518 tfod jr. torqueflite/loadflite 500-518/32rh-42rh-46rh-47rh. (88-99) corrects/prevents/reduces od planet failure,soft shifts,drainback,lockup shudder,vents/side seal leak,lube shortage,kills engine in reverse. w or w/o electronic govener system. I dont know but i think it might be worth it.less than 50 bucks

Message: Its just a basic shift improver kit and yes they
do help, I used to install a lot of improver kits
in the old 727 and 904 tranies. About an hour
The new tranies are basicly the same thing and
in the older kits it would increase the fluid
deliverd to the final drive by 2 to 300% and
raise the presure for firmer shifts
What it does is increase the presure to minimize
slipage and heat build up.
