Message: My Dak has 43,000 miles on it and I am sure that the suspension could use an upgrade. I do 99% of my driving on-road and as a commute of about 70 miles a day. The truck is a CC 3.9 4x4 (mostly for bad weather). I like a nice firm, resposive, on-road performance ride(like to drive around 80 regularly on twisty mountain roads in Colorado), but would need it to be relatively compliant and in the event that I go off-road it should be able to handle that without much difficulty. I have been told that the Monroe Reflex is a really good shock for this, but it seems that they don't get much credit here. Bernd likes the Pro Comps for the $ and Edelbrock seems to be on the pricy side. Based upon my needs what do you all think?

Message: The ProComp ES9000 are going to give you a stiffer ride than what you have now and are going to be terrific when you get off-road. Im in the process of purchasing some for my 97 4x2 ExCab, which will be about 60% on road driving and 40% off-road. I believe these are the best shocks you can buy for the money. I bet the Edelbrocks are just as good, but in my poor college student opinion, they arent worth $60-70 a peice. I have known a few people who own lift shops, and they put ProComps on their personal vehicle. Find out a few opinions from other people and then make your decision. Im going with the ES9000s for my truck.
Just my 2 cents.

Message: I have the KYB MonoMax on mine; I don't
off-road. I'm happy with them, but the indicated
fronts were too soft, so I got different P/Ns for
that position.
Got 'em at Summit.
