You need to have the dealer flash the Vin code and
milage into the new computer or it will just start
and that quit, every time you try it.

If I remember correctly they started that in 98

Larry or anyone else who knows,
Can this be done when the computer is disconnected from the vehicle at the dealership, since the truck can't be driven with the old computer?

Also, is it possible that after installing the new computer and the truck ran for half a second and then stalled, that it would not even run again (even for half a second)?

Thanks

Yes

And

Yes

some will fire than die and never restart others
will just start and die every time

Take your Vin # and the old computer to a dealer
and most times unless its completly fried they
can just pull the info out of the old one and
flash it into the new one.

Or manualy put the Vin code in. they can also
put any amount of miles in.
