Message: a lot of things can affect mileage. especially they way you drive it. is this a QC, CC or RC? a QC 4x4 w/ a 3.9 is asking quite a bit for that engine. add anything else to that like, larger tires, not properly tuned, underinlated tires, etc. and you could expect 11 mpg. my '00 QC 4x2 5spd gets a combined city /hwy of 20mpg. 18 city and i've gotten up to 24 highway.

Message: I got a 97 Dakota sport 4 wheel drive automatic
All Lucas synthetic fluids everywhere
Drop in k and n filter
Cut out cat
Put upstream o2 sensor downstream
Threw in a glass pack where cat was
Running 31 10.5 murders ( nokian vativas )
Bosch platinum plugs
I'm pulling an average of 20 mpg combined with highway and
city
Not happy with highway power but off road I absolutely love it
Been places I never thought I would be
Love my truck
