Has anyone tried a DirectHits ignition system? (directhits.com) Does it work any better than the tried and true MSD?

No way,

A MSD is a mutispark capasitive discharge system

It will spark 3 times at low rpm 2 times at 2800
and at 3000 it will be 1 long duration spark.

What this is, is just a capasitor put in the
wire to raise the voltage.

It would be cheaper just to bolt on a hot coil
and get the same resaults.

I have a supercharged LS6 motor and a modified LS6 motor ---- I put the MSD on each and they worked well for about 1000 miles and then several of the coils broke down and had to be replaced... then others broke down etc. I removed all of them and went back to stock coil. It was unfortunate becuase the MSD coils made for smoother running, quicker acceleration et al. The I put in the PULSE plugs and I get the same end results -- crisper acceleration, smoother idle and somoother running et al. Both, no doubt, due to more complete combustion.

So, I spent about $2000 on coil and labor to remove and install and remove the MSD coils and I get similar results from the PULSE plugs.

The modified cars are - CTS-V (2005) and Z06 (2007).
