Subject: hesitation on 3.9L..HELP!! IP: Logged
Message: Hey guys,
I have a 2002 Dodge Dakota Quad V6 3.9L, with only 18,000 miles on it and I am noticing that it has a hesitation upon taking off and a little bit of a shake when on idle. What do you guys recommend I do to fix it? Let me know...thanks..

Message: My 99 3.9 had a slight hesitation. I cured it by ajusting the tps solienod.
Here's a web site that shows how to do it.

I'm only guessing that would be your problem. After I did the adjustment it set a trouble code that has to be cleared.
My Haynes manual said it would set a code just checking it and that it would need to be cleared.
I took the truck to Auto Zone and they cleared it for free. It took about 2 days before the computer learned the new settings.
