Message: There have been a lot of people asking me how
hard it is to put a MSD multi spark control on
there trucks.
Just to show you how easy here's a diagram.
All you need is the 2 existing primary coil wires
The best way to identify these wires is to unplug
the coil and with a volt meter while cranking.
Constant voltage + plus on off
varying voltage - minus signal
Also note which side of the coil each wire goes to
+ and - if using stock coil.
On 96 or 98 and newer you will also need the tach
adapter.
You can find plugs and pins to make your own
adapter plugs at radio shack or MSD does
make some.

Message: The MSD part number is 8873 for the harness that allows for a quick plugin to the stock system.
You may need the 8910 tach adapter to prevent codes.

Message: installed mine a few days ago..
EASY...
but I did pop a coil code..Installed the 8910Tach adapter yesterday..along with a MSD replacement coil..
Only problem was I did not have the adapter to go from Square plug on my 2000Dak..to the round plug on the MSD coil.
Went to Radio shack..got to round pin connectors..
Installed a pig tail on each..
Slid plugs onto new coil..making sure they fit tight..
then I filled the plug hole with epoxy.
Installed quick connectors to the pig tail and on the coil wires..
Them pluged in..And it worked..
Also I did a tough ass mod today..Installed the superchips perfomance program..Easy 10 mins..
