I think the programmer becomes VIN specific after the 1st,install..so It stays with the truck you started with...
On my first install..the programmer registered my VIN..

I can't confirm, but if you think about it, it makes sense. They want to protect themselves against piracy just like the rest of the software development world. For someone to purchase it and then use it on several different vehicles would be akin to someone buying a new copy of Windows XP and sharing it around - a no-no.

it does and it doens;t VIN lock. while a program is loaded in the tuner is vin locked to the truck. when the stock program is reinstalled it unlocks. thereby making it sellable etc. so yes it does vin lock but yes you can transfer it to a different truck. make sense??

You install the power program..
send the programmer back to me..
all I got then is your stock set...
.
It may work on more than one vehical..but not at the same time..

after you get the programmer back you just re-download your stock settings to the programmer and then upload the appropriate map to the truck's ECU. Sounds like it works to me.

I give you my Programmer. Mine is alr3eady programmed to performance. You upload your stock programm to my tuner will make a conflict the next tuime you try to go to stock, that is if the programmer accepts your stock upload.
If it does accept your stock programming now it has 2 stock programs.
Now you get yours to performance settign and you are way happy. You send it back to me and if I decide to go back to stock or to the towing setting I will have a conflict most likely.
I do not think you will get 2 stock programs in it. even if you do how will it effect the pcm or next upload. this is where the programmer may start to lose info.
Quit being cheap and go get your own.

another advantage of getting your own tuner is that you can read and clear the codes from your PCM.

hey fourxfour, f*ck off man. I bet you didnt have a ton of money to blow on your vehicles when you were in college either. If I was being so cheap I guess I wouldnt have offered money to someone with the programmer but simply asked the favor of using theirs.

you can;t even load anythign to another truck while a program is installed. it vin locks immediatly. like so:
in tuner
1. performance
2. towing
3. 87 octane
in truck
1. stock
now you put the tuner in and do your set up. so lets say you add the performance. now it looks like this
tuner
1. stock
2. towing
3. 87 octane
truck
1. performance.
now it has no room for anythign else. this is why it VIN locks. so no you cann't have 2 stock programs nor can you use it on 2 different trucks at the same time. however if you wish to sell it you simply upload your stock program and return everything to how it was and then it unlocks and becomes available for another truck.
