Message: At your local NAPA auto parts ask for "Application Engineered" or AE brand brake pads, they work for me.

Message: I just changed mine about 3 weeks ago and had one h#ll of a time with them.
I bought the cheaper pads for about $33 at Auto Zone. There was something really wrong with them, they would vibrate the whole truck after they warmed up. And I do mean vibrate, and made all kinds of vibration noise. People would look at me driving through town.
And yes I had them installed correctly.
I finally took them back and exchanged them for their best brand $49. The people at the store thought I was nuts, but it fixed the problem.
I've been working on brakes for about 25 years and that was the first time that ever happened to me.
As far as what to use, unless you like to spend allot of money or do allot of road coarse racing or have a real need for the best, just get a good pair at the parts store.
Don't forget to have your rotors turned. Mine where really tuff to get off. I used PB Blaster to eat the rust off the rotor hub assembly.
That PB Blaster is great stuff when it comes to rusted parts.

Message: Have you considered ceramic pads? They are clean and leave no brake dust on the wheels. They are supposed to remain cooler under hard use as well. I pull a boat trailer and if the brakes get really wet, I can count on a smooth stop from them. My OE pads seemed to chatter the first couple stops if any part of the brake got wet. Just a thought...I don't remember what brand they were but they were expensive...in the $70s.

Message: I have had the Hawk pads with Powerslot rotors for a while now. They stop WAY better than stock, are really quiet, and have almost no dust.
