How can you only have 17k miles on a 99 engine. Even a measly 10k miles a year should be about 50 thousand miles give or take. I have 80 thousand miles on my 99 DAk. Was this thing stored or something?

Hey, it's possible. I put less than 4k a year on my dak.
6 mi round trip to work each day= 1560/yr
10 mi r.t. to Home Depot on wkend= 520/yr
100 mi r.t. to see the folks each month = 1200/yr
Total = 3280 mi/yr (give or take a few hundred)
We use my wife's Taurus (company car)for long drives, vacations & trips to the mall.
Just my $.02

Man! I wish you were closer to me or my parents. I've been looking for another 3.9 to do up crazy style. I have everything figured out but a motor. My goal out of this one is to make the R/T dude whimper. 8-) The motor I'm running now atleast gives me respect with those guys. I'm a h.p. junky, so that still isn't enough. I'd do it to this motor, but I want to build one and just swap them, instead of pulling this one out and having all that down time. Anyways, if you were closing to southern Georgia, or Delaware, I'd snatch it up in a heartbeat. I guess the search continues. Good look on the swap. It's kind of a pain, but well worth it in the end. Hope it goes smoothly.

The reason my truck only has 17k on it is because I don't use it in the winter. I Live in Chicago Where have the year it is snowing and the roads are full of salt. So in the winter my baby sleeps in the garage and i use my bitter 93 chevy lumina. Engine and trans still for SALE.

What would you take for the engine and trans both. I need both as the engine in my 1995 Dakota is not stock and I can't get it smog in CA. My trans has no reverse gear. So I'm looking for a Magnum V6 and auto trans. Does your trans have over drive?
