 Subject: belts and pully question

my a/c pulley is squeeling , and my belt tensioner is sticking when i take off the belt but goes back into place if i push it , but seems to be functioning fine. I just don't want it to seize and break, also if i need a new a/c compressor can i just buy the other belt and bypass it or will it be in the way?

I just had that same problem... we were going to by-pass the a/c compressor but couldn't due to way p.s. pulley lines up... belt kept slipping off... so we put on a a/c comp. from the junk yard... now we can't remember how the belts go back on... can u help?!?!?!?
