If your talking about moving the crank sensor to advance timing, I have not seen that article in a while. The crank sensor is on the passenger side of the engine behind the cylinder head where the transmission bolts up to the engine. The sensor can be moved to advance timing by moving it towards the oil pan. A movement of 3/8" is about 3 to 4 degrees. A scan tool will tell you the correct amount. The hole may need to be modified and the mounts on the crank sensor need to be slotted. Good luck.

Advancing the timing will help your low end
and give you better gas milage.

Also more pull on the top end.

If you get any pinging just work around it, colder
plugs or a 180 thermo and keep the timing you will
like the extra power you get on almost all the
dodge V6 or V8

93 octain is a really good fix too, and a lot less work then changing plugs or thermostats. of course then you trade off for more cost.

On the factory all plastic you need to drill out
the holes and move it down towards the oil filter

Also be sure you remove the ruber gromit from the
hole the sensor goes in.

If you buy a replacement they are all steel and
you can slot them I cut mine in half and built
a adjustible mount but have a hard time with
just 3 degrees advance with the mopar pcm I think
I have the ping solved and can keep the timing
now. I was going 7 to 8 with stock pcm

Yes 1 higher grade gas will also gelp a ping but
with a stock pcm its unusual to get any piston
ping from the advance

did you grind the bellhousing as suggestedin krc
article.will this work with resistor mod and does this take place of a jet chip
thanx a bunch

If you removed the rubber gromet from the hole
and got it moved 3/8 you will add about 3 degrees
advance.

The only way to grind the bell in my opinion is
to have it off the truck just think about were
all the grindings go.

The Jet chip alters the IAT signal and plays with
the TPS signal to give a timing advance

It takes a while for the computer to adjust but on
most trucks you will notice a little better gas
mileage and a small performance increase

Most of the newer trucks have the all steal unit
I thing they started that around 97 before they
were molded plastic
