Subject: Just got done installing a V8 TB IP: Logged
Message: I bought a used TB off of ebay, best $36 I've spent on a car. Went on in about 30 min of work. Just four bolts, three wires to attach, and three cables, plus the one going to the pedal.
Seems to have given the v6 more power. Not enough to spin the tires but more. Now I just have to wait for the computer to get used to it and we'll see what happens.
Oh yeah, it went into a stock 2003 Quadcab.

Message: Doh! I really should glance over previous posts befor I make a new one.
I just did the same thing. I haven't found a downside yet, in a few hours of driving. I wonder if mileage will take a hit or not.

Message: a lot of trucks will get better milage with the
V8 body.
It takes a couple hundred miles to adjust and
learn the new body.
Mopar says 21 cycles complete warm up cool down
so every time you drive it for the next few
hundred miles it will feel a little better each
time

Message: Interesting Larry.
So is how far you drive not as important as how often you drive ?? (As far as the computer learning your changes)
Or just get in the damn thing and drive it period.

Message: I put mine on last week and it feels slower. There is no low end at all. It screams at 3000+, but how often am I running at those RPMs? Not too often.

Message: Did you disconnect the battery and hold the key to on for about 20 sec.? I was told that resets the PC.
I did that and when I started it the first time, it felt like I had more power. Not as much as my 5.9 Ram, but better then it was.

Message: Yup--everything was done correctly. I know I need a new PCM so until I take care of that I dont think any of my mods will have a positive effect.
