Subject: Larger Fuel Injectors and Mass air? IP: Logged
Message: Ok, I was telling my friend about my future mods and he thinks I am not making a smart move to change the TB from the stock 6 to the 8 version. He suggested I do the easy route by changing the Mass air sensor and go two sizes larger on the fuel injectors. Well I am not too smart on the engine thing but I would guess the Mass air sensor would cost more that the TB and K&N Air kit together. So is he right should that be something to consider changing and if so what should be done first? Currenlty the truck is stock except from the cat back I have a dual exhaust from the muffler out (soon to be upgraded to magnaflow setup) and new tires. I was planning on the K&N cold air kit next and then the larger TB. So can anyone educate me on this?
Thanks in advance

Message: Dodge does not use Mass Air systems on the trucks, SUV's, or even the Viper...they use Speed Density (MAP Sensor). You can move up one size injector (if the engines built for it) but not two without some custom programming or alternate PCM help (Haltech, SpeedPro, etc.).
