Subject: Can this be done???? IP: Logged
Message: Ok I've seen a tunnel ram intake for a chevy V8 that was cut down to fit on a chevy V6. Can this be done for the 3.9 useing an intake from a 318. Also can a vac advance distibutor from a 225 /6 be adapted to work on the 3.9.
thanks,
Aaron

Message: I'm not sure but if your good at fabricating you could probably make it work. It wouldn't give you much power though, tunnel rams are designed to make power at high rpm's (like 7 or 8,000). And i don't think you want to rev your dak that high.

Message: I didn't want to do a tunnel ram. I wanted to section a low rise intake from a 318 to my 3.9.

Message: Hey guys,
Since we are talking about intakes. I'm not sure if you can do that. If so, i'm not sure if it's as easy as your article says. Must be a Chebby thing. Of course, with the right grinder and welder anything is possible. ;-) Also the vac advance thing wouldn't do anything even if you could get it to fit, unless you changed it to carb and ditched the computer. Then you would need to do about 15 pages of junk to do to get your truck to run again.
In case you guys were wondering. I'm still trying to make the tunnel ram intake I was talking about a few weeks ago. I'm also trying to make a MPI clone for the 6ers. Once I get them both fabbed up and stuff, I'll run test on them to see which one is better with what mods. As soon as I get all my ducks in a row I'll let you guys know. I'm hoping you are as excited as I am. Been wishing for quite some time that Mopar would make something for the 6ers, but I guess I'm gonna have to save the day. :-) (Super Man theme in background) Anyways, have fun and keep on modding. Just remember that old school mechanicing and new school are the same, just with allot more wires.
Later,
Buck
