Message: i put an msd ignition in my truck and it keeps giving me a code 43. i saw on speedtweaks that a tach adapter will solve this problem. do you actually have to connect the tach adapter to a tach or just have it connected to the msd box. im also getting a canister solenoid circut code. . would the code 43 trip any other codes? what is the canister solenoid?

Message: Fault in ignition coil control circuit.
No you do not need the tach adapter,
Are you sure you have the wires hooked up right.
big red 12 volt always on
big black good ground.
Now you need to use the 2 exsisting coil wires.
test them with a volt meter while cranking over
1 wire will show a constant voltage this is the
on off for the unit +
the other wire will jump up and down signal -
you need to identify these wires and which one
was on which side of the coil. and hook the 2
from the MSD right on the coil.
If you have them reversed it will run but you
will end up burning out the coil.
