will the 360 air intake that is made for the 97-up 3.9L dakotas fit on my '96? its the same motor, why would it be different?

It will work fine but you need to get an air hat
from a bone yard don't the 96 still have the
round style filter setup with the hose running
down to the Rad saddle
Just get one from 97 up the Air hat does not come
with the setup just the tube and the cone filter
