I have been using Unleaded Plus in my 2000 Dakota ever since I had it. When my gas light came on, I filled her up with Premiun Gasoline. Now all she does is gurgle and spit. Tough time starting and when stepping on the gas from a complete stop, she gurgle and spits. Any suggestions? Right now I am trying to get rid of the gasoline as fast I can. Anyone have the same problem?

Using a gasoline with an octane number higher than what is required to stop preignition is a bad thing to do as well as a waste of money.

Try using Mopar CCC (combustion chamber cleaner) to get rid of some of the goo clogging up your engine.

From what I've read you should use the lowest octane it takes to keep your engine from pinging. Any more and your wasting your money because it doesn't make it perform any better. Although... in driver's ed, I was also told it's a good idea to run premium through occasionally to help "clean" the system. I am not positive that any of this info is true, it's just what I've read/heard.

the reason why is cause you ran it on that same grade the whole time you had it the computer just got used to it...it doesnt really matter what number octane you run it on cause that truck would run on 60 octane if they made it the computer would make it work it would shut down the necessary programs to run on anything you put in it...i run nothing but 93 octane in my truck and when i take a step down to any thing i get a knocking noise its called a knock sensor its supposed to do that...dont worry about the noise your truck is making its nothing serious....oh and dont ever get gas at one of these little corner stores and get gas cuase 9 times out of 10 they have water in there fuel...also if you do get gas at these stores buy the cheapest octane cause if you look on the ground youll notice they only have one tank under the ground...so how are they gonna pump two different types of gas out of one tank...just something to think about...

Uhh.......I didn't think our Daks had knock sensors? I know my Stratus R/T does, it specifically says to use 91+ octane for opitimal performance. 200HP at the crank guys.
