Subject: jba headers IP: Logged
Message: truckperformance.com claims these gains for jba headers 15-20 HP/26 ft lbs Torque. Is this anywhere close to true??? I know I once e-mailed jaba and they said 7-8 rwhp, is that true??? or do you need a supercharger to really get good gains from headers?

Message: just running the headers with everything else stock won't do you much good, but with a good flowing muffler and good intake those numbers are pretty reasonable...

Message: CW,
i just bought a scanner yesterday and i made the big mistake of not looking at system requirements...of course i only have windows 95 and the darn thing requires all of that new stuff like 98,2000 or xp...even if i did have one of those, i have never used one so it will be an interesting journey! i even found the coolest picture of my truck the other day when it was jacked up with big tires...kinda like bernd's but with a lot more mud on it!
lilblackdak,
i really can't give you exact #'s but with those two mods it sure would help...remember, the more you do the more better it will be...everything works together....free up the exhaust a little...
then try to get more air into the engine....if you get the headers, then i would recommend the jet stage II module and some throttle body work...
you'd be impressed!
percentage lost at the rear wheels?....
auto.....about 18-22
manual...about 12-15
that's what i heard from the local dyno shop

Message: sounds good CW, i was gonna not get the jet 2 but cause i kind of want a supercharger and they dont work together very well(according to bernd) but thats alot of money so i think I'll just get headers and jet 2 this summer (cause ill be broke till then) maybe some sort of tb mod though I'm not sure which one to get. Flowmetrics sounds good. i dunno. Im pretty happy with my gibson catback it feels a lot faster (especially low end)
althogh not much gain at high rpms(which is exactly what the said. I really want a superchager but i dont think im ever gonna get one...well at least not for 2 years.

Message: Correct. I dyno'd my V6 before the S/C and/or Nitrous with the JBA headers as compared to stock manifolds. (This was with a Magnum Performance TB, MSD Coil, Jet Stage-II, and a cold air intake.)

Message: mine don't look good! jba headers don't like to go mudding! ! but the mud coating does help keep some heat inside the header....white trash ceramic coating!!
