 Subject: 87 transmissin question

Hi guys and gals. I have an '87 Dakota with the 3.9L engine. My transmission on it is a 3 speed automatic, model A-904. It's 2 wheel drive, and I was wondering if anyone knows a manual 5 speed transmission model that would directly bolt up to my engine. I'm not worried about the electronic stuff for now. I heard that the NV2500 model would work, is this true? Thanks in advance!

Well I got an 88 Dakota 2wd with the 3 speed under it and your best bet I think is to get either a 4 speed drive or get a bolt on overdrive.

It is an automatic tranny. I you have any intent on racing the truck you will want the auto because you have to be one hell of a superquick shifter to shift faster than an automatic. No I do not know the model number of the transmission
