i was told by a mechanic that it may be the hall effect. I've called all the part stores for this part & they have no clue what i'm talking about.

Message: I just changed the Hall effect in my 87' V6 carburated Dakota. The Hall Effect plate in in the distributer under the rotor, at least in the my carburated truck. It is also call the ignition pick up plate, or distributor pick up plate. It comes out with two screws on the outside of the distributor and has a wire bracket that goes out the side of the distributor.
It seemed to stop the stalling in my truck, but time will tell. Brent
