Subject: stalling - code 11 IP: Logged
Message: hello everyone, I've been reading here for a month or so and now it seems time for my problem to get posted. here it is
the problem started with my 1990 dakota 2wd v6 3.9 stalling and I was able to restart the engine with no problem the next day the engine died and would not start up for about 20 minutes.
I did the check engine diagnostic "thanks to you folks and your wonderful info" and i came up with code 12 ok replaced the map sensor & reset the computer.
it ran fine for awhile then stalled again unable to restart for 20 minutes like before. ran the diagnostic again and came up with code 11.
I have replaced the coil,wires,plugs,cap & rotor.
when the truck is running it runs fine no missing or backfiring.
could this be the hall effect?
also my starter is on the fritz lot of clicking before it starts. could the starter problem have this kind of effect on other components?
thanks for your valuable time.

Message: I would first check your fuel presure
13 to 14 pounds on a throttle body injection system
It sounds like your fuel pump quits running when
hot after it cools down it will run again same
thing on my 88 firewood truck

Message: thanks alot larry, I'm sure i will need special equipment to check this. I'll take it somewhere to have it checked at a shop.
I banged the hell out of the starter this morning and now the starter is working fine.
also it started fine this morning & 5 minutes later it shut down.
started back up in 5 minutes and ran fine for 5 mile ride.
again thanks I will check the fuel pressure.
