Message: You should be able to do it in a weekend with 2
guys and a cherry picker.
You can just leave the trans in the truck take
all the bell bolts out but don't forget to take
the bolts out that hold the converter to the flex
plate.
Just suport it with a small hyd jack so you can
adjust the height when you drop the new motor in
having the converter in the trans, once its bolted
up to the bell you can just spin the converter to
line the bolts up, it would prob be a good idea
to take a can of spray paint and mark the
converter location to the flex plate because they
only bolt on 1 way. line up the paint mark and
bolt it on.
If you pull it out with the TQ hooked to the
motor you may damage the seal where the converter
goes in the tran's I would hate to see ya do that
because than you would have to pull the trans to
replace the seal
Have fun, I don't drink but maybe you should have
a cold 6 pack on hand.
