Subject: Where is the oil filter on a 3.9L??? IP: Logged
Message: Hey guys, just bought myself a 2003 Dakota Club Cab with the 3.9L v6... I want to go ahead and change my oil, but I can't figure out where the heck the filter is.. Can anyone help me with this, I know this is a goofy question but I spent 15 minutes looking for it and couldn't find it.. I'm a chevy guy, so I'm familiar with where the filters are on a GM, but I'm new to Dodge and need as much help as I can get.. Thanks in advance!

Get a good filter and use a good synthetic Oil. Will do wonders for your engine life :)

Message: Right Side of the Engine, you will have to crawl under the truck, it is next to the lower control arm for the front passanger side tire. Not too hard to get to, but it can be a pain if the engine is still hot. Shank is right, good filter and synthetic oil are the keys.
