Message: I just put a Fastman TB on my 3.9 and it made a noticible difference in the 3,000 - 4,500 rpm range. I think it was worth the $250.
I don't think it does much good though without a decent intake and low-flo muffler.

Message: The V8 TB is one of the best upgrades you can do
but at least get a drop in K&N filter,
if you keep your foot out of it most even get better gas milage.
The low end will be about the same or lose a
little torque, with an after market like the
fastman or F&B you gain a little on the
low end.

Message: Am I confused or are you basically saying that the V8 throttle bottle will only do any good at 3000-4500 rpms. As someone else said, how much time do you spend at 3000-4500 rpms. Not trying to be an ass but Im confused now!

Message: You may need to swap out the throttle cable.
The V8 bodies 318 360 have 50mm plates with a
48mm step and you don't need to modify them at all
just bolt them on.
You lose a little just off idle after that they
give you better respose and power, its hardly
noticeable. Most show about 15RWHP across most
of the rpm range
Its a very nice upgrade for the money

Message: Well, it's kinda hard to notice any power below 3,000 rpms. You're just not getting much air intake yet. But when you stomp it and drive up the rpm's, then you can feel it pull much harder than a stock TB. It's good for passing or just plain racing.
If this isn't your thing, then obviously it's not for you. I suppose though it will give you better gas millage, but I can't resist the temptation of mashing the hell out of my accelerator every now and then!!! LOL.

Message: Mikes94Dakota-- you need a '93-94 V8 Throttle body.
For those model years, you do not need to change the throttle cable.
I sell these for $90+ shipping, with a new TB gasket.
Transfer your sensors and bracket, and you are set (no cable change needed like I posted above).

Message: I have the DynoMax SuperTurbo with 2.5" pipes all around and a stainless steel tip. That was the first mod I did and could NOT feel any performance increase, but it sounded much better. Once I put on the intake, then that muffler took advantage of the extra air intake/exhaust.
I guess what I'm saying it make sure you have a low flow intake complimented with a low flow exhaust.
I liked the Dynomax better than the Flowmaster because it was stainless steel with a lifetime warranty, vs. 2yrs (I think), and it was a little more quiet, but still had a low rumble.

Message: If you use a V8 TB from a 94 you DO NOT need a cable. Ive done 3 of em and none needed it unless a 96+ V8 TB was used. Far as aftermarket Tb's go I have no idea.
You will notice more bottem end and not just 3k up, thats for sure.

Message: I have both the stock '93 V8 TB that's a direct bolt on, OR-- a F&B 48mm TB w/correct porting and correct linkage (all new mounting hardware, and new TB gasket-- lifetime warranty).
