Anyone know if a '93 Dakota SBEC 5602 7836 (3.9L, 5-Speed) will work *properly* in a '93 B-150 Van with the same specs? The van's SBEC is labeled 5602 7840.
Looking for somebody who knows for sure.

I would say yes because any 92 to 95 will run on
any V6 92 to 95
I have even seen V8's work on the V6 but don't run
as good.
you know you grab the wrong one and put it on and
cant figure out why it runs like crap.
When everything gets painted you need to remove
all the stuff under the hood except the motor that
just gets covered.

Cool. I'm picking up a 5602 7836 SBEC from a '93 Dakota at the salvage yard this morning, and I will post the results back here.
I hope it works, because I can't find a 7840 SBEC anywhere -- guess a B-150 with a 3.9L and a 5-Speed was a rare combination.
I also hope it works because the used $125 SBEC from the boneyard is not returnable. Keeping my fingers crossed that this works ...

Yes, I picked up a Dakota SBEC which turned out to be a 5602 7837 and it works just fine in my B-150 3.9L 5-speed van.
