 Subject: Rattling noise between 2nd & 3rd gear

I own a 99 automatic 3.9 V6 and was wondering if anyone could tell me what this noise is that I am hearing. Every time my truck shifts from 2nd to 3rd gear I hear a rattling sound from under the hood or in that region. It is a very faint sound and only last for a second. The truck shifts fine and all I just don't know what that noise is.

I believe that your problem is engine related but I couldn't tell you how. I have a standard 93 3.9L v6. The dealership told me at 30k that I had run my vehicle with bad oil and it could let go in another 1k or 75k. I'm currently at a 115k and still rattling the whole way. We may be experiencing different things but mine will rattle anywhere from 2nd to 5th under any moderate grade.
