Subject: High oil pressure / engine noise
IP: Logged

Message:
This morning when I started my truck the engine was making a noise which sound like metal slightly rubbing... I also noticed that my oil pressure gauge when up past the half way point which it never does until I'm driving it. It usually stays low when I idle then goes up as I drive.

I'm only 1,500 miles into my oil change and have the oil changed on a regular basis.

Does anyone have any idea's on what could possibly be the problem? I drove it to work and it seemed ok when I got here but then when I took it out to lunch it did the same thing again.

Thanks for any help,
Shane

Get a can of Engine Flush & quit using Penzoil!

Sounds like your Oil Journals are plugged, A good flushing, Good filter and a Synthetic Oil Change should help.

I had a guy look/listen to the engine. He said it sounds like the noise is coming from the AC compressor, possibly the clutch bearing going bad.

How would this cause the oil pressure to go up?

It wouldn't.

I would just change the filter and add a half qt
of oil you may have a bad filter.
