Subject: engine diag codes IP: Logged
Message: HELP!! I have a 99 dak with the 3.9. The check engine light came on and intermittently when i start the truck it will back fire and stall. It has done this also once while at speed (70). As soon as i turn it off and restart, it stops the rough idle/backfire/stall and runs normally. Ive changed both o2 sensors and the purge valve. The symptons remain the same. Please.....any suggestions?

Message: Yeah first check you codes, let the truck tell you what is wrong, and go from there. Shank listed the good sites for codes, and if all else fails go to your local parts store and look them up in a book, especially when this is happening on the road.
