Hi...

I have added a V8 throttle body, 160 dg thermometer, relocated IAT, tuned TPS, and a KN Filter.

I need more ideas for cheap performance tricks. It runs awesome when it cools down a little, but it is so slow in 100 degree weather. Do I need to get a resistor and hook it to the IAT to trick it? I'd probably use a potentiometer so I could adjust it. What size should I be looking for (ohms). Please do not answer unless you are confident and know your stuff. I can't afford to screw up my truck.

What else...

Underdrive pulleys?
Electric Fan?
Custom intake?

Also...I hate the sound of the Magnaflow muffler thats on it now. Sounds like a jap car after 1800 RPM. My friend has a flowmaster on his V6 Ford and it sounds a hell of a lot better. Not like a V8, but nice. So...40 series or 50 series. I'd rather sacrifice loudness than have to put up with a ricey sound.

Thanks a lot!!!

The 40 series mufflers are going for cheap on Ebay.

Should I go with one of them? I can't find a 50 series anywhere near the price. I need 3" inlet and dual 2.5" outlets.

hey, i'm trying to decided between the 40 and 50 also. I've been told that the 50 isn't as loud so i think that's what i'm after. I found a deltaflow 50 series for 80 bucks. How much did you see the 40 for?

Cool...I'll look around.

I found the 40 series for 39.99 on Ebay brand new. Only $10.00 shipping. He has good feedback too.

I may have to try it out.

Am I looking for the 19lb injectors?

If I get some off an older car, can I clean them easily?

Where would the oxygen sensor on my truck be located?

Thanks/

Throttle Body made the biggest difference.

Intake was a far second. But...they kind of work good together.

Someone let me know about the resistor value I should use and where the Oxygen sensor is.

Think I could get more performance if the O2 sensor is clogged?

yeah you can just clean the off thats what i did.i dont know where the o2 sensor is cause i didnt even mess with that,i just took the belt off/took the air hat off/took out all the bots holing the fuell rail in/replaced the injectors and did it back up the way i took it off..::IT IS VERY IMPORTANT TO REMEBER TO UN HOOK YOUR NEGATIVE WIRE ON THE BATTERY WHILE INSTALING THE INJECTORS AND LEAVE THE KEY IN THE IGNITION TURNED TOWARDS THE ON POSTION..::this way your computer will reset its self..they work pretty good..its a pretty cheap but effective power mod..

cold air intake, remove front rubber flap if you have one, this is in the front of engine compartment close to where your air filter is. Dynomax has a good muffler as well. I got mine brand new from Summit for around 40 bucks or so.
O@ Sensors are located in you exhaust, close to your Y pipe (nearest to the engine). Looks like a plug with wires coming out of it. I just bought a Superchips tuner from another sites group buy. I will post results(butt dyno) when I install it.

Yeh I again from what little I know, you should definitely get a COLD AIR INTAKE and not just the filter! That was the very first mod I did and like pbxr said: I cut out the rubber flap. You could tell the difference right away! You with that new throttle body you need the extra air you should be able to see an improvment immediately!

Oh....I have a set of Crank and Alt pulleys in that I'll be putting on tomorrow or this weekend. I'll let you know what I think when I'm done.

Another cheap thing would be to do new cap, rotor, plugs and performance wires. If your truck is in need of that it should definitely help to wake it up!

Hey Sam, so what are you thinking price wise? I noticed that a group buy at Dodge Truck World, was VERY successful. Almost 200 buyers, I myself included, on a Superchips tuner. Perhaps, if a GB is not positive here you can start there? Either way I would be interested.

Hi.

Just got my 03' Dakota SXT. I hear alot of tweaking the TB with a V8 TB, i will surly try that one. I got a 50 serious single-deul out FM. Sounds lovely and adds a good jump on QM. Low end still needs work but i am working on it. Getting the K&N full intake(a must for low end i think). On to my question, Does anyone know where i can get a Performance chip, if there is one, cause i haven't herd otherwise. Then i will see performance and move to injectors. But right now i Wanna hear about the chips. So if you can help me i would be much appreciative. And will report results. Will have pics up soon, people say i got a nice paint job, but thats not performance.

thanx,
DakTimSXT

Group buy---

Well, since I virtually the lowest price on Crower roller rockers-- going much below is going to be tough. I'll be able to do it, but it's not going to be a crazy discount.

What flavors are people wanting (I am talking to the V6 guys here)-- standard kit, or rev kit?

OK-- Here's what I can do-- Someone will need to be the point man for this-- they take all of the info, payments, kit type, etc.

Then send it to me. Then I will fill the orders. Fair enough?

5 or more orders from Now until Oct 1st. Magnum V6 kits only--

1.6 or 1.7 ratio rockers, standard kit = $305 shipped
1.6 or 1.7 ratio rockers, rev kit = $420 shipped.

Best I can do guys.

Sam, excuse my ignorance, can you explain the difference between the standard and rev kits.
Also is there is huge differance in performance between the two? Thanks as always for the info. Oh and one more thing, can we use our stock valve covers, or do we have to upgrade them as well?

The standard kit includes ARP studs, washers and rockers (12) railtype (to keep roller tip on valve). Good to 5500 rpm...

The rev kit includes ARP studs, guideplates and rockers (12) non-railtype (no washers on the roller tips-- as these come with guideplates). For applications over 5500 rpm... (if going beyond 5500-- upwards of 5700 rpm and beyond, it is recommended you upgrade the wimpy stock valve springs to either the RT springs, or Crower double spring (.600 lift capable).

For either kit you will need: A) Modify your stock valve covers to clear the Crower rockers (knock in the oil baffles, or B) Purchase modified covers powdercoated in your choice of colors, and send me your cores--- or C) I'll sell you modified covers outright for cost + coating + shipping.

If someone wants to be the 'leader' of this and gather all the info, that's cool with me. Go ahead and post it elsewhere if you think there's enough people out there that want in on this.

I can be reached at 619-274-1292 if you have any questions.

I have been selling Crower products for about 4 years (and I have been using them just as long-- 75k on this truck I have now!).

Sam
