Message: I had the same problem w/my Jeep Cherokee. On the firewall driver side, all the Engine wires plug into a giant plug that all go in under the dash. The tightening screw never got tightened and was full of water.
Hope this helps,
Shank

Message: I think i fixed it. Dont want to jinx it but here it goes. I thought the problem may have something to do with the speed sensor. So i looked at it on the tranny and would you beleive the wires had lose most of the plastic shielding around them. And they were grounding out on the trans. Looked a little farther and would you beleive again i found another connector just above the other one and it too had most of the plastic off the wires. The 1st connector only had 3 wires purple, black, and brown with green strip. The other connector had about 8 wires and all of them messed up. I went to local junk yard and they had a 98 2wheel drive, i cut the connectors off with some of the wire and spliced it into my harness and now the damn thing works. I drove it around and all is well.

Message: I have a 98 Jeep Wrangler and I'm having problems with the instrument panel not working. When this problems occures, none of the gages work nor the odometer. Then maybe a week later, the instrument panel will work again. Has anyone had this problem before?
