Message: Well, I thought I'd tell you all my latest win. Two nights ago I was sitting up at the hangout lot and saw my friend, with his 97 dak. 2wd 3.9 stick extended cab 105000 miles. I really wanted to race him BAD. I dont know why, but I just did. He didnt want to, but to show how desperate I was to race, I paid him 3 dollars. We went out to possomm road(a road that has two bridges exactly a quarter mile apart). I got out and adjusted my T.V. cable a bit, and we lined em up. We had a kid get up in front to lines us, he held up his hands high, dropped em, and we were off. Him having a 5 speed, he took me off the line while I spun FOREVER. Well, I got to see his tail lights. Then I caught traction, red line first, red line second, looked over, and I couldn't find him. HE WAS IN MY REAR VIEW MIRROR.
Well, we both have flowmaster duals for our only mod. When we got back to town, my friends that started us off said that my second gear shift left a one wheel blackey on the ground. This is with my stock auto tranny.
I thought I would share this with you guys, to tell you not to be afraid of a standard tranny opponent. Im not trying to put down my fellow dakota friends, but he was a truck and a half behind me. I loved it.
I don't race too much as you can tell.

Message: Nice victory bro, but seriously don't think that you can beat everyone with a manual. It is quite possible that your friend did not shift at the proper rpm range, or baby shifted instead of speed shifted or pwr shifted. Several factors come into play when racing a manual shift vehical. Especially if you are not a very good driver. I hope this isn't burstinig your bubble or anything, a win is a win, and I congradulate you. Just take into consideration, a few factors like the wieght difference in the trucks and the drivers ability to operate the vehicle at peak performance.

Message: I know that there are many ways he could a screwed up his shifts, but I don't race much, or win much. So this was a big deal for me to win. I'm happy. It amazed me that I got a second gear spin with my auto.
