Message: Very difficult,
You have to :
Remove the rear driveshaft(to slide tranny back)
remove starter & studs to get the torque converter cover off.
remove Oil Filter to get to Tranny to Engine bolt.
remove all 7 engine-tranny bolts
remove 4 flex plate to torque converter bolts
MARK AT 1 BOLT HOLE ON THE FLEX PLATE AND TORQUE CONVERTER FOR THE FLEX-PLATE TO TRANNY. IT WILL ONLY GO BACK TOGETHER ON 1 SETTING!
slide the tranny back far enough to get to the 6 flex plate bolts.
MARK THE LOCATION OF THE FLEX PLATE!
remove the flex plate and you can see the freeze plug.
remove the violator, get new freeze plug.
there is a special tool to install freeze plugs but we normally use a large socket and a small hammer.
Re-Assemble....
Should be able to accomplish this with, 3/8, 9/16, 5/8, 11/16 & 3/4 wrenches & Screwdriver
Sound like fun? With a lift and the tools your looking at minimum 6 hrs work for a $3 freeze plug.
1st make sure it's not coming out the back of the intake assembly (Plenum). the water jacket runs on the outside of the back of the plenum and possibly blew the gasket on back.
If it's the rear freeze plug it will flood your starter and you will see the antifreeze coming out the cover for the torque converter and possibly out the top passenger side where the crank position sensor is located.
Good luck,
Shank
