Subject: Leaking Water, but from where? IP: Logged
Message: here is what happening, maybe you guys/girls know more about this then I do.
The past week has been about 80 to 90 degrees and very humid. when I turn off the truck after driving it for a few miles ( about 30 or so, thats just to the store and back) a puddle forms under the truck. Right in the middle.
here is where it gets wierd. I don't have A/C, so that isn't it.
It is water, not Anit-freze (or coolant, whatever you like to call it) it just smells/feels, like water.
so my question is, where is this coming from? is it bad? good? normal?
thank you
MM

Message: Is it coming down near the bellhousing of the transmission? It could be the rear freeze plugs.
For your sake I hope not. That was a bear to get to.

Message: Well, thank you all for the help, but I found out where it was coming from. It is coolant, but I have too much water mixed in with my coolant, that's why it wasn't green, or smelling like coolant.
I drove on the highway today, made it there, but not back. had to tow it. I'm not sure I want to keep this truck anymore! o-well, more money spent on it that could be spent better else where....

Message: I work in a bodyshop in the southwest and I see fresh water all the time when customers complain that now the vehicle is not drivable after a little bumper tap because it is leaking.
It is completely normal for there to be alot of condensation after running your a/c. So much so that there is often a puddle.
I don't know much about cars but I do know that.
