Subject: MSD ignition upgrade IP: Logged
Message: i would like to use a MSD 6AL controller
BLASTER SS coil
now to the ?'s
im going to do plugs and wires at the same time
im kinda of partial to moroso spiral core wires will a set from a 5.2 work? whats HEI?
should i use a ballast resistor? 1/4 ohm or 1 ohm?
which autolite plugs to use?

Message: No you don't need any resistor.
Just use the 2 exsisting coil wires, one is on off
and will register a constant voltage on a crank
test with a voltmeter.
The other side will be a pulse signal on off while
cranking the motor over signal side.
The othere 2 wires from the MSD go back to the
coil be sure you note which ones are which on
the coil so you put them on right.
There is a + and a -, plus is the power side
and - is the signal
Get at least a 8 to 8.5mm wire you will be sending
a lot of high voltage through them. I run the MSD
8.5 with a 6a and ss coil. 5.2 same wire's you
just end up with 2 extra wire's

9mm wires are just as good if not better tha an
8.5mm just a little heaver
