this is probably somewhere else on the board but i searched and couldn't find it. i know 3rd gen wheel bearings are only available as a hub assembly but are 2nd gen 2wd bearings easily serviceable? just turned 200k on my 1993 v6 auto 2wd and trying to keep it running as long as possible.

Nothing to it mewerj. I have a 92 auto cc 2wd w/138k and put new rotors and bearings in yesterday.

A year ago when I got the truck I did pads/rotors and repacked the bearings. Now the rotors are shot, so I bought new ones ($35 each) and my neighbor(who is a good mechanic) suggested I do the bearings since there was play in them. He had just replaced his also at 115k miles.

Anyways, I went to o'reilleys (since autozone didnt have the inners) and spend $40 on inner and outer bearings, new seals, and a tube of grease. I think he spent $25-30 just for bearings at autozone. They are very easy to do. It gets messy but you can do it in 2hrs. Im 22 and not a good mechanic, but with a little help or a Haynes I can usually get it done. So if I can do it, I know you can.

Just let me know if you need any help.
