Message: this is probably somewhere else on the board but i searched and couldn't find it. i know 3rd gen wheel bearings are only available as a hub assembly but are 2nd gen 2wd bearings easily serviceable? just turned 200k on my 1993 v6 auto 2wd and trying to keep it running as long as possible.

Message: Nothing to it mewerj. I have a 92 auto cc 2wd w/138k and put new rotors and bearings in yesterday.
A year ago when I got the truck I did pads/rotors and repacked the bearings. Now the rotors are shot, so I bought new ones ($35 each) and my neighbor(who is a good mechanic) suggested I do the bearings since there was play in them. He had just replaced his also at 115k miles.
Anyways, I went to o'reilleys (since autozone didnt have the inners) and spend $40 on inner and outer bearings, new seals, and a tube of grease. I think he spent $25-30 just for bearings at autozone. They are very easy to do. It gets messy but you can do it in 2hrs. Im 22 and not a good mechanic, but with a little help or a Haynes I can usually get it done. So if I can do it, I know you can.
Just let me know if you need any help.
