Message: I was driving along when some lowered toyota truck was next 2 me it was getting on it then letting off so i say fu*k it and hit it then he hit it and it was all over i got owned so u guys here need 2 help the people out with the 1 gens like me and tell us how 2 make them faster so we don't have 2 get beat by toyota by the way i have a 88 rc short box 3.9 v6 with high flow cat and pro flow mulffler and 2 1/2 pipe

Message: You have one of two ways to go about this.
You can use any and all LA V8 parts you can adapt to your engine and then throw N2O to its hisass or you can just do a V8 swap.
LA parts that adapt are as follows......higher compression pistons from a premag 318, larger valves (if head porting is performed).
360 throttle body with your factory injectors ( Ive heard about that one on this site, never done it myself). Roller rockers from the LA line but your will have to cut the shafts down and replug the cut end.
Thats about it for engine mods unless you can get ahold of some MP parts that used to be available from MP like the 4bbl intake and higher lift cams.
You will have alot more gain for the $ if you just do a v8 swap.

Message: thats the kind of motor... the 318/360 was known as an "A" engine.. the later ones where know as "LA"... "Later A" and the newest ones are known as "Magnums".

Message: Intense's got it pretty much right about the LA's...basically there the premag small block V8's.
N2O is ok but you can almost cut the actuall HP shot they say in half runing it on a stock weak engine. N2O really benifits from free'r breathing engines with good flowing intake mods and free flowing exaust (you probably have that covered) and as many N/A mods you can get in an engine.
